About Natalie
Every successful individual knows that his or her achievement depends on a community of persons working together.
CEO, Director of Advocacy
Ms. Guerra, has a long standing history of working with children, with nineteen years working in the government sector, first within the public school system and then through the County of Los Angeles, Department of Children and Family Services.
CEO embraced humble beginnings as she “worked her way up” the ladder of the government sector, starting with working as a day care provider attendant with a local school district. It was at the local day care in which Ms. Guerra began to realize her passion for children and their needs.
From there, Ms. Guerra went on to work with special education students, providing support, collaborative and independent instruction as a special education aide to middle school students.
Working with special education students led Ms. Guerra to be selected to teach as a long term substitute for elementary aged RSP students. While working within the school district, CEO obtained a degree in Clinical Psychology and a minor degree in Human Services from California State University, Fullerton.
While working in the school district, CEO continued to broaden her education in the chosen area of Marriage and Family Therapy, completing some coursework in this field through Hope International University.
In 2009, CEO was selected for employment at the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services. From this point, Ms. Guerra went on to complete the Department’s training academy through the USC Center on Child Welfare.
Once completed with training, Ms. Guerra worked intensively as a case manager for the Department of Children and Family Services at different regional offices, including Metro North Los Angeles, Pasadena and Glendora Regions.
Ms. Guerra worked in the Dependency Court process to manage cases for adoption, reunification, and AB 12 clients for four years before transferring to the role of an investigator.
The latter sector of Ms. Guerra’s career included navigating child abuse and neglect investigations to training Social work interns from Azusa Pacific University to working closely with law enforcement, school officials, medical professionals, psychiatrists, psychologists and local non-profit agencies.
As Ms. Guerra’s career in child protective services lengthened, so did the difficulties within her own life. CEO managed her career in this sector while attempting to navigate a difficult personal life.
Ms. Guerra became a licensed minister of the Gospel through Western Evangelical Association and uses her license to pray over ill children at the hospital and other ailing individuals. God has used her to launch the ministry, Affirm Family Ministry to coordinate homeless outreaches, donate to low income families, pray at hospitals, and advocate for the children of the foster system by providing low cost advocacy services and consultations for families undergoing domestic violence, substance abuse and mental health cases in dependency or family court.
The advocacy sector of the ministry is under license through the Secretary of State in California and is licensed as a limited liability company (LLC). The business, Affirm Family Advocacy, is an active member of the Whittier Area Chamber of Commerce and works closely with the populations in Whittier and the surrounding cities.
The ministry also provides you tube teachings and provides pastoral prophetic counseling services to individuals.
Affirm Family Ministry is currently actively being managed and developed under the direction of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Natalie J. Guerra.
